The Prelude Program
Through Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati's Prelude Program, children in Cincinnati areas schools participate in a journey toward self-expression. Working closely with teachers, ETC brings actors/artists into the schools to interact with students. The goal is to share the creative process of writing and performing a play with the children. They learn about the elements of play structure. They write a play, design it, costume it, direct it, and perform in it.
ETC collaborates with ArtLinks to plan and monitor our Prelude Program each season as part of their Adopt-a-School initiative. We work with each school to identify their individual needs and tailor our program accordingly, helping students learn new ways to assimilate such information as vocabulary, geography, and history.
ETC relies on funding from coporations, foundations and indiviudals to help support all of our work with children. To learn more about how you can support the Prelude Program or any of our activities, please contact Amy King Ruggaber (amy.kingruggaber@cincyetc.com).
